Default Some bright spots for struggling Kings

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings have not jumped out to an ideal start this season, but they don't have to look hard to find some positives either.

The Kings are 3-4-1 and with seven points are fourth in the Pacific Division. Coming into Friday, LA has played more games than any team in the NHL so far.

One of the bright spots for the Kings has been the play of backup goaltender Mathieu Garon. He has played better than starer Dan Cloutier in the early going and backstopped LA to a 4-0 win in Thursday's game at Phoenix.

Garon stopped all 40 shots he faced to help the Kings snap a four-game losing streak. The veteran netminder is 2-1-0 on the season with a ,952 save percentage and a 1.67 goals against average. However, it is probably too early to talk of a goaltender controversy in the City of Angels.
