ReEntry into Hockey
Well I've been away from Hockey (playing) for a few years - 35/40 yrs. And haven't really kept much track of NHL or World level hockey either. I played a bunch in the 60's and 70's and was an active fan of top level play. Then I moved to the California Central Coast and between other distractions and ice proximity issues, I forgot how much fun skating and hockey could be.
But now, as I approach my mid-60's, I absolutely find the need to get back on the ice. Been skating a 2 times at Channel Ice in Oxnard, and then broke out the old gear (and I do mean OLD - like 35+ yrs old) and did some 'sticktime'.
What a HOOT! It does come back relatively quickly...
Time to consider some new gear, although the old stuff has held up quite well and is servicable for some 'no check' action.
Looking forward to a ton of fun playing in the local leagues and watching NHL and other televised play.
I AM STOKED! again...
Looking forward to some interesting discussions here!
Bring it on!
