Hello all,
I guess a quick introduction is in order. I am almost 42 years old and have been a big Islanders fan since moving to New York 26 years ago. Originally I am from Vilnius, Lithuania (Darius Kasparaitis' home town) when it was still part of Soviet Union. I do not skate well enough to play hockey, but trying to get my son (10) and daughter (7) involved in it. As a matter of fact, I am so jealous seeing them on ice that I decided to take some skating lessons myself and hopefully get to play some hockey. I have been reading Laura Stamm's book and ordered Robby Glantz' video on skating. If you have any advise, I'd be more than happy to hear it.
That's my son with Yashin top row middle picture:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, I have been lurking here for one day and noticed that you were a Ranger fan.

Good to see you sign up, I think you will enjoy his place, we don't really want nor do we need to see falme baiting, if you follow the Islanders I won't hold it against you lol........

It is a joy to watch your kids play the game, eh? I miss it big time.

welcome man, hope you enjoy your time here, I know I have.

You'll find most of us here a knowledgable bunch, and its probably the best forum for hockey on the net.

I am glad that I found HF. I did notice quite a few Leafs fans here and Canadians in general, eh k: . I do try to avoid getting into flame wars, but at times you have to stand your ground in a proper forum k: . I do enjoy watching my kids on the ice - I did not have the same opportunities at their age. Again, thanks to all for making me feel right at home.
