Good to see more posters signing up, sorry but I moved this to the intro forum, seeing as it is a intro thread I felt it would be better served here.......

I just can't see why you want pucks screaming past your head 100 mph all game long.

Welcome to Matt's Forums. Oops I mean Hockey Forums.

Okay Matt tell me who is more nuts?

The defensman who only has minimal padding on his chest, with what most likely is a open face helmet, skinny shin pads, a cup that for some barely fits, and wee gloves, drops in front of that 100 mph slap shot from Al Macinnis.

Or the guy who has 20 some odd pounds of heavy duty padding that has been specifically designed to stop that 100 mph slap shot from one Mr Macinnis, he has pads on his legs that are least 2-3 inches thick, a chest protector that an Infantryman would dearly love to have on patrol in Kabul, A helmet that is designed specifically to deflect the puck away from his head with minimal imapct, and to top it off he has a cup that would most likely hide the average VW Bug.

Now tell me who is more nuts between the two of them?

Oh and lets not forget the amount of times that said defensman has actually redirected that 100 mph slap shot off of his body only to have the goalie already set up for the original angle which in turn takes the poor goalie way out of posistion making him extremly vulnerable.............

Since I'm not a defenseman and don't usually play the penalty kill, I don't ever have to worry about getting in front of shots, my stick does.

Okay, so the puck goes 85 mph instead of 100. It would still hurt.
