The NHL is so similar to the ages prior to the lockout in so many ways and in others they are so different. It’s amazing how before the Detroit Red Wings won that out of the last three Stanley Cup winners only one of them made the playoffs the year following their cup Championship, with neither Carolina and Tampa ever returning to the playoffs since their wins. There seems to be a parity amongst the league and this seems caused by a CBA generated to eliminate there ever to be a chance for a dynasty again.
With two new teams in the finals ever year, and more young teams on the raise, it seems that the dynasty is dead.
What are you thoughts.

The dynasty probably is dead. I thought if Pittsburgh had pulled it out last year they had a shot because of the incredible core and the ability to keep alot of those guys. Now that Malkin and Fleury are secure I do think they could still do it.
The most likely way a dynasty could happen would be if the cap keeps going up, then teams can keep guys (if they're willing to go to the top of the cap). It would still be almost impossible, it's a watered down 30 team league. Did you know that they're are 10 times more kids playing football on planet earth than hockey? too many teams.
