Pens6615 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default Forum Activity

Let me start this thread by saying that I mean this in no negative or flaming manner.

The activity in the "new" Hockeyforum's seems to very low compared to the pre-merger forum. I just base this on sections like the NHL section and especially the lounge or chit chat section. I dont have post/thread counts to back my argument but the activity now, even in playoff time seems really low. There are threads at the bottom of the chit chat section that havent been responded to in about a month and even some threads in the NHL section that havent been responded to in 3 days. I rember having to look at the second page some days to see all the new/unread posts.

One thing I do like about the new forums is the level of activity in the Penguins section now. But that might have to do with them being good now...

Its one thing to point out problems, but another to solve them. If you have any suggestions to fix this, we'd greatly appreciate hearing them.

I guess I was asking more of a question: is forum activity down compared to past years?

Maybe not having moderators shun new users. Makes it seem like an elitist forum.

Excuse me?

How are moderators shunning new users? People join, people say welcome...? What more do you need?

Peaks and valleys. As for threads not being responded to in 3 days in the chit chat sections....well, it's playoff time. People are talking about different series's in on different days. It's only natural. Hey, even I haven't been to the Penthouse in a week or so....

Essentially what I am saying is it goes with the flow of the game from what I recall. Come draft time you might see it spread out again. And then through summer things quite down some, then training camp...and so she starts again. It's really no big deal. The site will continue to grow positively with the continued positive support of posters like yourself. I appreciate your concern for the site, I think it's imperative I say so. We, like many other sites have people whom only want to be part of the problem so when I personally see someone put forth a question of genuine concern I like to say thanks. This site has always tried to make good posters, respectful posters, feel good about being here.

Thanks again.

I am a new user. A certain moderator has decided to come down off his high horse and insult me then runs off. He set a really good example I will tell you that.

For some people one bad apple ruins the bunch.

For that matter, maybe new users could be scared off by comments like:

"I am not wrong. Your view is pathetic"

or

"You should talk shht to my face. Pens fans are hilarious"

or

"Someone please inform that dweeb he hurt my feelings."

or

"If my emotions are coming through in my posts and your offended you then go watch soccer yah bunch of nancys."

or

"Capitals fans are pathetic"

All within the last couple of days. Every user should always keep in mind the famous old saying: "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." It's conceivable, though unlikely, that posts like that could be seen by new users as example of "one bad apple".

So, to the extent that you didn't like what happened with you, maybe you (everybody for that matter) could use this as an opportunity to take a look at the tone of your own posts.

That was an example of Daryl putting you in your place, go sit in the corner and take a timeout.

Great thanks. Now that we have established retaliation posts are allowed here goes...
All the posts you quoted were my responses. You act as if I am the aggressor. My quoted posts above are in reponse to:

You do it usually to draw a penalty for the opposing team, if it doesn't work then too bad but if it does work then guess what folks? powerplay.

And for the last comment see the following link or if you prefer I will find one of many worthy quotes.

There is also an old saying two wrongs don't make a right. It is confusing, are you condoning personal insults? Have you even bothered to look at the posts I responded to? I doubt it. It seems as if your sticking up for that moderator and/or taking credibility from my statements.

I've already taken into account what I post. I try not to personally insult other users. The moderator's post was exactly that...a personal insult. The Flyers won the series to boot! This guy was just enraged about something I posted and could not control himself then attacked me in a public forum. A very poor example of what a moderator should do in any forum trying to build a user base. I could not help but post my recent troubles here when I saw this thread.
