Once...a long time ago. For me, reading Stephen King is like eating at McDonalds. You just kinda scarf it down and then get on with the rest of the day.

One of the worst things I've ever done....years ago I read John Steinbeck's great American novel, "Grapes of Wrath" while I was unemployed (to pass the time). Afterwards, I ended up extremely depressed in a fetal position for weeks....

I've read a couple of SK novels Tomiknockers and 2 other I can not remember. I like them but it doesn't hook me. But that's all a matter of preference and style.

I love John Grishalm! He's my "brain candy". I love the court and law and the south. His newer ones stay away from the court rooms and are more adventure/thriller types. But the one I like the most is "skipping christmas", it has nothing to do with law or not like any of his other novels, it's an hour read (very small) but it really makes you think.

I've read "Dream Catcher" and "Pet Cemetary"

I wouldn't recommend renting the movie Dream Catcher... talk about disaster

ive noticed all his books turned movies have been a big let down. if i could recommend any of his books it would have to be the dark tower series and the stand. dark tower series,in some ways, remind me of the lord of the rings trilogy. more modern of course. I've also read a book called "life of pi" it was an excellent read.
