Came across this movie and it was actually really good, check it out if youre an old time hockey fan you would really enjoy it

I remember watching it a few years back. Al Waxman (King of Kensington) plays a gruff Jack Adams. Billy Van (House of Frightenstein for you oldsters out there!) was in it too.

If I recall, it was about how the NHLPA was formed and how Ted Lindsey and Gordie Howe were paid peanuts for their efforts on the ice. A far cry to today's multi-million dollar salaries.

Read the book by the same name. It covers all of that subject plus even more. Ranging from the dawn of the professional era until that mid 1990s. One of the best hockey books written ever.

In Canada, just about every used book store will have one or two on their shelves, usually selling for $1 or so.
