Now this is very important so don't sign up for this if you arent going to participate. This is a fantasy league that WILL NOT BE SIMULATED. It is going to go on purely stats. Here's how the scoring will work:

Forwards
Goal: 1 point
Assist: 1 point
Power Play Goal: 2 points
Short Handed Goal: 3 points
PIM: -.5 points for each minute

Goalies
Win: 6 points
Tie: 3 points
Shutout: 12 points
GA: -.5 points

Defencemen have the same scoring as forwards but the number of points is multiplied by 1.5 since they are defencemen and they score less so they are worth more.

The draft will take place on a specific date AT THIS FORUM. It will go 1-10, 10-1, 1-10, ect. till all positions are full. You will post in a specific forum and thread for the draft. You are limited to the following:

9 Forwards
6 Defencemen
2 Goalies

(Or in hockey terms, 3 lines and a starting and backup goalie )

Now is anyone willing to sign up for this. I will do my best at handling the draft at a forum with full NHL rosters so it makes your draft picking easier. Also the draft order will be determined by me picking out of a hat at my home. The hat will be my New Jersye Devil's Hat which I bought Game 7 of this years final sso it has some luck. Anyways if you sign up best of luck to you!

A bit of constructive criticism, if you don't mind...
With the point distribution set up as it currently is, goaltenders are worth about 2.5 times as much as position players.

Top Ten 2003 Goalie fantasy points leaders, avg: 242.2
Top Ten 2003 Skater fantasy points leaders, avg: 95.6

You may want to look at adjusting the system here to balance it out a little bit more. As it currently stands, somebody in the pool would get 2 more points for having Marc Denis on their roster than they would with Markus Naslund.

I'm in, but the points are a little too complicated and goalies are worth a lot more (as Daryl said). Only ten people in it then? And it won't be for a while?

Last year i was in faceoff.com's fantasy leauge and that would be a good one to model this league off of. I can't remeber the point scale and now that the site has change i dunno if ill be able to find it. But way to get thing going marty!

well there is a way to find out. I dont know exactly how the old faceoff.com used to look but if you go to http://www.archive.org/ you can see older versions of sites the the government holds for reference. So go to http://www.archive.org/ and type in faceoff.com or whatever the sites called and you can see last year's site and go through it.
