Well some of us being sports fans have probably seen the show "Around the Horn" on ESPN. I intend that we do that with forum members. I would be the moderator (Max Kellerman on the show) and you other members could be the participants. Here's a basic explination. Its main highlight is featuring passionate opinions on the weeks's hot-button issues. I will act the role of moderator of this fast-paced, no-holds-barred production. I will be charged with breaking up verbal exchanges among noted participants from the forum.

Rules & Information:
Will take plae once a week. Most likely on Mondays.

Must have 4 participants for each debate. First PM first selected basis.

Please keep the vulgar language to the minimum if possible.

There will be 3 rounds. The first 2 elimination rounds then the final round will be a showdown to determin the winner.

Scoring:
Scoring is based on Point of View, Style and Information

+2 for a good answer/response
+3 for a excellent answer/response
-1 for interupting and directing traffic (I will type ______(Insert Name Here) MUTE when I penalize you)

Scores will be told at the end of each round

Frequently Asked Questions:

You never stated how it is going to be run. Will it be posted? Will it be IM?
It's going to be run through a Chat Room in either MSN or AIM. If participants don't have one we can use the other. The chat will then be posted here with the final scores

If so, how will you get the timeframes right?
The time frames will have to be decieded for a time in which we all can agree one.

What happens if you don't show? Or show up late?
If a person shows up late they will probably be eliminated after the first round since we will start approximatly 5 minutes after the set time. No points would be deducted since most players by the time you might show up alredy may be up to 10 points ahead of you depending on the situation. If a person doesn't show they are not allowed to participate in the next session without a legitamate excuse. This is going to be on the honor system so please be honest I have no way of checking.

What happens if you want to compete, but you don't have the proper messenger?
If you don't have the proper messenger a chat room hack for the forum might be the best way to do it, either that or we're going to have to think of an alternative. Maybe an mIRC channel or somethng.
