Not even that he just signs Gaborik; he signs him for 5 years and 7.5 million! That's insane. What were you guys thinking he would get.

To be honest I thought he was going to expect that (7.5) and be brought to a harsh reaility that the only way he would get 5 yrs was for maybe 5.5-6m max...

I definitely did not see this coming. I wouldn't be too happy about this if I was a Rangers fan.

Well, yeah, the length is the issue. If he signed him for one year at $7.5 million big deal. The fact he's bringing in a player for an extended period of time and eating up a chunk of the cap while players like Staal and Dubinsky will need new contracts in the next year or two is what I had an issue with.

When he first signed, TSN reported it as 5 years at 5.75, then later changed it to 7.5.
