Default An Offer They Can't Refuse.

Got players you want to see moved?
Have someone targetted as a must have?
OR just want to see some changes made?

Make an offer you think they can't refuse.

Mine is;

To Tor:
Kovalchuk
Armstrong

To Atl:
Kaberle
Hagman
Stajan
Ponikarovski

You ask Ovechkin if he would trade his Art Ross and Richard Trophies, to trade places with Sidney Crosby last June.

If I was ATL, I would most definitely refuse that trade.

I'll take the Molson. But yea, Redden sure did get himself a ridiculous contract.

I wouldn't if I knew that Kovalchuk wasn't going to sign a deal past this year. If he's bailing, I would want something for him and the package is pretty good, even though I would ask for a 1st and a prospect instead of Ponikarovski. If he's going to sign an extension or has already, then I would keep him.

If I were Don Waddell, I would hang the phone up on you. There's no way that I would trade Armstrong for two pending UFAs in Gill and Sykora. Maybe a 3rd round pick for the rights to the two.

I'd probably get more for Armstrong if you just try to send an offer sheet his way, since you would have to over-pay to get him out of Atlanta. Which the Penguins can't afford, and if they somehow can, they're giving up at least a 1st and a 3rd, since I wouldn't let him go for anything less than $2.5M. Up until then, I'm matching the offer, maybe a little higher.

If I were running the Thrashers front office, I wouldn't listen to an offer for Armstrong from Pittsburgh without the starting point of Goligoski.

Start point of Goligoski? Steep, but fair.

UFA Sykora and UFA Gill just won't do it to get him out of Atlanta.

I'd let the Penguins either offer sheet him, which would essentially screw the Penguins Cap wise, or give me a deal that I could actually work with. Goligoski is what I would want, unless somehow they would be willing to give up Letang.

Goligoski and Pierro-Zabotel for Armstrong, Hedberg and a 3rd. 2nd if I absolutely had to.

That kind of deal I would have a hard time turning down.

Well, maybe sign both, and also tag along a 2nd rounder.

Wouldn't do that either way. Sorry Colby, I know you're a friend of Sid's but we don't really need you back. Third line is already set with Cooke-Staal-Kennedy. Don't need to sign an offer sheet for what would be a third/fourth liner. Giving up Goligoski(24yr old Dman who had 20 pts in his first year up in 45 games) for Colby just doesn't make sense. Jump at it if you were Atlanta, I'd want more if I were the Pens. Besides, this year the Pens are turning over a few older Dmen that are not going to be needed anymore(Gil, Boucher) and will possibly lose Scuds to FA, so they will be keeping GoGo around.
