If he didn't have a glass crotch he'd be worth the high dollars no doubt he demanded.

Don't know how many Gaborik rumors have floated in the past 2-3 years. Too many to count. But if he HAS bought a house, that would be a sign. But is this fact, or just internet rumor based? Hard to figue that they will be able to sign him AND the Sedin twins. That would take up most of what they have left in cap dollars.

Personally I think the Sedins are gone. They will be in Toronto next season.

Gaborik will be signed and Luongo will be re-signed. Apparently he has purchased property near Merritt which is only a few hours from Vancouver so take what you will from that.

The Canucks are also apparently close to trading for Jay-bo. I think Gillis is trying to keep this team a contender because he is going to lose the Sedins. Gaborik is a waste of money at anything higher than 5 mil. The guy hasn't played more than 63 games in years. Plus he's a contract hold-out so I question the attitude a bit. He supposedly turned down 7 a year from Minnesota. I like that Gillis is trying to get Bowmeester, but the Gaborik/Demitra thing isn't always the best dressing room situation. Gillis knew the Sedins were gone last summer when he offered Sundin 2 years, if he had took that, they had no chance of keeping the twins, so now he is despirate to put a competitive team on the ice so as to attract Loungo into staying there after this season. The players he's after might do well, but with Goborik especially, I'm not ready to get too excited.

Two weeks ago I would have said "Hell NO!"
But at only a 5.25M cap hit each it isn't so bad. Could help get that goalie signed too.

You ask Ovechkin if he would trade his Art Ross and Richard Trophies, to trade places with Sidney Crosby last June.

just for the record, gaborik played 77 games in the 2007-08 season. he had a surgery this season to prevent future injuries. if that works he could finally fulfil his potential and become a 50-goal scorer

The house is in West Van not merritt

Just to make sure there are no misunderstandings from the source, Gaborik will be signed to the canucks, and the source would be me.

Also there are rumors floating around that the Canucks may trade the negotiation rights to the sedin twins, or trade up in the draft tomorrow

I have just read that Demitra said that Gaborik didn't buy any house in Vancouver. Honestly, I don't think it would be a wise decision because it would mean that he negotiated with them before July 1 and the league would have had to look at that

Ahhhhhhh, the Sedin's are UFA's, so there is no extra exclusivity like there would be for an RFA. Anyone that wants to talk to them can at this point.
