The Rocket, good career length or awesome performance with a great story to complete the package.
During my lifetime would have to be Saku Koivu. Long career, great leader, one team, never gives up, fought cancer and nearly went blind only to come back way before anyone else's expectations. All around great guy who never gives in to the haters (and we all know there's a great deal of them).

hello i am new here...:P

anyway first player that pops up would be Terry Sawchuk; why look at his shutouts and the time he played...

2 other players that also pop up are Valery Kharlamov and Vladimir Konstantinov

you had to love vladdie for his hits too bad his carreer ended way too early..
and kharlamov was just an outstanding player!

That's tough, as I have several.... Dave Keon #14 Toronto Maple Leafs, Bobby Orr #4, Gordie Howe #9 Detroit Red Wings, Jacques Plante, Johnny Bower, Toronto Maple Leaf Goalies, and Tony Esposito Chicago Black Hawks. Tim Horton # 17 Toronto Maple Leafs, Jean Beliveau #4 Montreal Canadiens. I'm sure more will come to me.
