Default The best plus/minus ratings

Larry Robinson = +730 for his career = 20 seasons
Bobby Orr = +597 for his career = 12 seasons

Those two are out of this world...neither one had a minus season...

wow. that's crazy.
gretzky was +503 lifetime and a +98 season in 84-85.
+536 in nine seasons alone before playing with the kings.

Bobby Orr record for plus/minus in a season was a GODLIKE +124!

The Closest person to come to that record was..

yeah him again..

Larry Robinson...an even more GODLIKE +120!

and this was before the trap, although the Habs would play a variation of it when they were comfortably ahead and the game was nearly over.

Default Plus/minus statistics are deceptive

Don't take too much stock in plus/minus statistics.A player can spend very
little time on the ice and be a +13 just because he happened to be on the
ice when goals were scored.Let's see how good that player is when he
gets a lot of ice time. Then we'll see something.(a credit to the players
you mentioned.)

Sure you might be on the ice for 4 of those +13 but the other times, you probably had something to do with the puck going into the net. Rick Nash was a -35 last year, not because he was on a bad team, but because he doesnt back check. Having a plus rating means something.

Bobby Clarke, no matter what you think of him, was an excellent defensive player. +506 for his career and never had a minus season. And all this as a forward, when traditionally the defensemen are the guys who have the higher +/-. In a time when so much emphasis is put on offense, I would take Bobby Clarke over a lot of people ranked higher than him on the all-time points sheet.

Default Bobby Clarke

He was the greatest defensive forward I ever saw,the greatest face-off
specialist I ever saw,and he could score to boot.He was greater than
Mario Lemieux as an all-around player.Bobby Clarke---some kind of player.:0pouce:
