As expected, the Panthers and FSN Florida announced Monday that Steve Goldstein - who has been part of the team's broadcasts for 11 years - will be their new play-by-play voice on television.
Goldstein, 37, did play-by-play on the radio the past two seasons. He replaces Dave Strader, who left after two seasons to become the play-by-play voice of the Phoenix Coyotes.
The team also announced that Sports Talk 790 The Ticket (790-AM) in Miami will become the home of Panthers radio broadcasts for at least the next three years.
Randy Moller, the team's director of broadcasting, said he has received more than 200 inquiries regarding the radio play-by-play job vacated by Goldstein and that the team will begin meetings this week to address that vacancy.
"No decision is imminent," Moller said.
Kreps, Globke accept offers: Minor-leaguers Kamil Kreps and Rob Globke have accepted their 2007-08 qualifying offers, the team announced.
Both players spent time with the Panthers last season, Kreps getting one goal and one assist in 14 games and Globke one assist in 19 games. Both will be candidates for the one forward spot coach and General Manager Jacques Martin still has available on the roster.
