The Florida Panthers agreed to terms with defenseman Bryan Allen on a five-year contract extension Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Allen scored four goals and had 21 assists last season, setting career highs in assists and points (25).
"Bryan proved to be one of our top four defensemen last year and he will continue to play a vital role in our team's future success," said general manager and head coach Jacques Martin. "He is a very talented and physical player with a tremendous work ethic, who is an asset to our organization both on and off the ice."
In 298 games with Florida and the Vancouver Canucks, Allen has scored 18 goals and registered 39 assists to go along with 400 penalty minutes.
