I would like to introduce my Roleplaying Hockey Team Management League to hockeyforums.com! It's actually a group of coexistant leagues, run from a central database of completely fictional players and teams. This creates a game world that's unlike most fantasy hockey leagues. In this, there are exciting possibilities and interesting challenges to consider.

The premise is the same as other management games. You get to run a team. You make trades, wise draft picks, and line setups, all for a chance at winning the cup.

The biggest challenge to this project has been making sure it will run itself and not take much human time to keep it running. I'm happy to say I have met this goal. All simulation is done on the web server and all stats are managed in the database by the server.

The fictional game world allows users to pull up any player profile to view their stats and skills, but best of all, all player profiles contain a unique player photo. These are computer generated cartoon images as you can see below.

I developed this project because I am a big fan of the game of Hockey, as we all are. I will not be posting a public link to the game site within this forum. Membership is open but private at this time. (note: I am trying to avoid filling teams with inactive members)

Simulation is currently on pause until a majority of teams are under human control. It's more fun that way. Thank you for your interest and if this sounds like something you will enjoy, I am looking forward to hearing from you.

A quick update to describe more about the league's features.

One complete season with playoffs takes 3 months to simulate. Games are scheduled almost every day. Stats, standings, and Game Recaps are updated immediately and automatically. Each season builds off the last so trades and draft picks are important for the long-term. Line setups are important. There are currently 2 leagues. The game can scale up to as many leagues as practical. Trades and exhibition games between teams of different leagues are encouraged. It is within the same game world so there is no difference.
