Obviously this is very early to determine who will go first in next years draft but I think it will be fun to see people's answers now and then see what they are next year at draft time.
At the moment my pick would have to be Nail Yakupov out of the OHL's Sarnia Sting. The kid has unreal skill and last year at the age of 17 scored over 100 points in the OHL. He's not the biggest guy but he plays tough and he always finds himself in great scoring areas and when he gets chances, he buries them. And he is a very fast skater. So he's who I like right now.
Hard to go against Yakupov, but with that said, I'll mention a couple other guys.
I'm a huge Ebert fan though. The way he thinks the game and his offensive skills remind me of watching Cam Fowler when he was in the US Development program. But he's more physical than Fowler was.
Grigorenko being in Russia really hurt him. I've heard a lot of him coming over to play for Quebec next year, but haven't seen anything 100% concrete about it. If he's coming over, he's got to be in the discussion too.
