Rimouski center Olivier Fortier is one of the most intelligent players in the draft, and arguably the best defensive forward available for selection.
“(Olivier is) a very bright kid, and has excellent hockey sense,” said one QMJHL official.
Fortier also scored 28 goals this season, mostly relying on his speed to create opportunities. And while he’ll never be an offensive dynamo at the NHL level, the Quebec native has the potential to become the next P.J. Axelsson – a brilliant defender that can chip in some offense every now and then.
