Goalie Brad Phillips’ vitals are strange to look at.
USA Hockey lists him at 6-foot-1, 145 pounds. Talk about a bone rack.
“He got a little stronger as the year went on. Eventually he’ll add more mass to his body. His dad and brother are both big guys,” said Randy Wilson, goaltending coach for the USNTDP.
The goaltender for the U-18 team is ranked ninth by the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau, and posted a 2.33 goals-against-average in 24 games this season. His save percentage was also a sterling .913.
“Brad is pretty consistent from game-to-game. He was also very supportive of his goalie partner (Josh Unice), and was just great to work with,” said Wilson.
