(EDMONTON - Thurs. Dec. 18 - 7:00pm MST) OILERS RETURN HOME TO OPEN HOMESTAND VERSUS MINNESOTA WILD -- The Edmonton Oilers (12-14-5-0) open a two-game homestand as they host the Minnesota Wild (12-14-5-0) at Rexall Place tonight. It is the third of six meetings between the teams this season and Minnesota's second of three visits to Edmonton during December. The series is tied at 1-1-0-0 with both teams earning shutout victories on the road. Edmonton won the first meeting of the season with a 2-0 win (Ty Conklin, 22 saves) at Minnesota on Nov. 13 and the Wild returned the favor with a 1-0 win (Manny Fernandez, 34 saves) at Rexall Place on Dec. 3. The teams will meet again in Edmonton on Dec. 30 and at Minnesota on Jan. 2 and Feb. 13.

Thoughts, comments, predictions?
As I said before and hope to never say again - this is a must win game for the Oilers. They played great against the Kings, but the bounces came against them. All they need to do is play the same game they are now, and they will win the game. I think Conklin will start, as the rotation of goalies continue until Salo is back to full health.
My Prediction: 5-4 OT Oilers, Cory Cross with the winner.
