(LOS ANGELES - Tues. Dec. 16 - 8:30pm MST) OILERS BRING THREE GAME UNDEFEATED STREAK INTO TONIGH'TS GAME AT LOS ANGELES - The Edmonton Oilers (12-13-5-0) bring a season-high three game road undefeated streak into tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings (15-11-1-3) at the STAPLES Center. It is the first of four meetings between the Oilers and Kings in 2003-04 and the first of two visits to Los Angeles by Edmonton. The Oilers will return to Los Angeles on Dec. 16 and Mar. 22 and will host the Kings at Rexall Place on Jan. 31 and Mar. 26.
If Edmonton can win this, then I think they can gain confidence and hopefully get back to their old form. My predicion: 4-3 Oilers
Oilers lost 4-2 tonight. Agian the lack of PK cost edmonton this game, LA got the tie breaking goal on the PP. Special teams can be the differance b/w winning and losing, and not havin either of them going is costing edmonton alot of games. The bottom line is that they need to get both the PP and PK going, its almost teh end of december and they've accomplished nothing on either of those fronts.

What is it going to take to get the Oil special teams on track? Is this Craig Simpson's undoing? If that's the case then maybe he should switch jobs with Joey Moss and let the lil' guy have a crack at it. It can't be any worse than what is (not) going on right now.
As I look at the scoresheet I'm trying to come up with something positive to say.....
Hemsky led the team in shots with 4 (good!) while Smyth and Isbister had 3 apiece followed by Dvorak, York, Torres and Brewer with 2 each. Singles go to the rest of the D-men (excluding Laraque and Horcoff) Cross, Semenov, Staios and Smith.
Oates was 10 for 16 on faceoffs (63%) and the total team average was 54%. If it wasn't for Oates the team avg. would be easily below .500.
