Thoughts, predictions, comments?
This is a must win. Edmonton can't spiral down any further than they have. Recently they ahve been getting the shots, but they have not paid off yet, so the Oilers needs to take more quality shots. My Prediction: 4-4
Yes, I agree...quality shots are a must! Even their finish around the net has been less than spectacular. They have to come out with desparation in their eyes (and heart).
What's the deal with Craig Simpson as PP coach? The PP has really gone south since he took over.
A win with a couple of PP goals would really help this club right now.
I think the only way Oilers will win is if they play one of the best games of the season. Yes i know it's only minny but they are slumping right now and should play at the top of their game. I hope Oates gets a goal or at least a point and wins mostly all his faceoffs. I think Oilers are better then minny so far this season so i'll go with them and say Oilers win 3-2. Maybe in OT.
That's 21 goals for the opposition and 9 goals for the Oil. That's 6 wins for the opposition and ZERO wins for the Oil. My guess is that the dressing room door after the game was closed some time before they let reporters in and I wouldn't be surprised if K-Lowe was down there throwing some furniture around or breaking a few sticks.
Shots on goal; Oilers 34...Wild 31. Moreau and Dvorak both had 5 shots apiece, Chimera had 4 and the rest of the shooters (20 shots between 13 players) only had either 1 or 2 each.
Well the troubles continue in Oil country! And they fall another game below .500...ouch. I smell some big moves on the horizon! Comrie, Brewer and Isbister to name a few that are probably going to be traded. The Oilers can't just trade Comrie alone now because teams know they desperate to get a deal done. It has already been reported on TSN that a few vets are being included in potential trades in order to get something to help the hockey club now! Ryan Smyth's name was mentioned but I highly doubt they would trade him. But if they did all 29 teams would line up for his services, he is the heart and soul of the Oilers.
Back from the game... and I am not exaggerating when I say that this was one of the poorest performances I've seen by the Oilers in a long time. Completely sloppy with their passing, very few quality shots, terrible PP... the fans booed Smytty out of the building when he was named the third star... Conks was the only Oiler who deserved any cheers, he kept the Oil in the game, but they couldn't capitalize... Tuggy, both Brewer and Isbister were healthy scratches tonight, so a big deal may be "brewing".

Damn I didn't know that....being a heathly scratch is usually a good indication that something is in the works and especially with the way the whole team is playing. I think a shake up is almost nessecary at this point. Damn Comrie!
Actually I though Brew was injured (groin), Im pretty sure he's injured... I read an intresting story on Comrie today in the U's newspaper, about how hes refusing to practice with the Golden Bears anymore...
And Edmonton lost 1-0, with 35 shots on net, and winning just over 50% of the faceoffs. The effort is there for this team, they just aren't winning...
