The Edmonton Oilers have shuffled their roster with several player movements today.
With goaltender Tommy Salo returning to Edmonton to have a hip injury examined by the team’s medical staff, the Oilers have recalled goaltender Stephen Valiquette from the Toronto Roadrunners of the American Hockey League on a 48-hour emergency basis.
With Valiquette’s recall, the Oilers have now used one of their two goaltender exemptions a team is allowed over the course of the regular season with respect to their 23 man roster.
In eight games for Edmonton’s AHL affiliate, Valiquette was 3-4-1 with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. This is the second recall of the season for the 6’5”, 205 pound Etobicoke, Ontario native as he was previously summoned from the farm on October 24th and dressed as backup to Salo for two games before being returned to Toronto on October 31st.
Centre Jarret Stoll has been activated from the NHL Injured Reserve List after missing the team’s last five games (Oct. 30-Nov. 8) due to tonsillitis. He had been placed on the IRL on November 3rd.
As well, the Oilers assigned defenceman Alexei Semenov to Toronto. Semenov had scored 1-0-1 with 6 PIM in five games for the Oilers this season.

I don't know why Semenov what sent down. I thought he played OK, didn't you? Also, who is our 7th defenceman now? Brewer, Cross, Staios, Smith, Fergy, and Bergeron are the 6th...I don't get it.
