Default Oilers vs Rangers

Quote:
(New York - Mon. Nov. 10 - 5:00pm MST) OILERS VISIT NEW YORK The Edmonton Oilers (5-6-2-0) continue their six-game raod trip Monday as they play the New York Rangers (5-4-2-2) at Madison Square Garden. It is the only game between the Oilers and Rangers this season.
Thoughts, comments, predictions?

I think Ty Conklin should start this game. Edmonton needs to take control of the puck in their own end; not giving it away. My prediction: 6-4 Oilers.

I don't think the loss on Saturday to the Leafs will bring the Oilers down. Playing Sather's team and ALOT of ex-Oilers I think they will be pumped.

Since joining the NHL in 1979-80, the Oilers have an all-time record of 25-22-9-1 (.526) in 57 games versus the Rangers and have outscored New York 209-202. Edmonton is 12-13-3-0 (101-94) in 28 games at Skyreach Centre and 13-9-6-1 (108-108) in 29 games on the road.

I'll go as a homer and say the Oil will win by 2 goals.

Edmonton won, 5-4. I lovbed the way Ty Conklin played, very confident and made some great saves. He plays the puck with so much confidence (he played it a couple of times when Rangers were very close by), and I can tell he will be a main starter in the future. Dvorak got his first goal, ironically against his former team. Torres added two more goals to his total, which is now 6, tied for first in the league with rookie goals. Next game: Boston tomorrow.

I don't get to see the Rangers play that often. I was looking forward to see all that high-priced help go to work - but they didn't. There doesn't seem to be a hunger, nor is there a panic in their eyes. You think they would take up the slack and show the hockey world that they are worth every penny they make....but they didn't. The Oil beat them to the puck and played with (not so much desperation) but rather with more determination.

The Oil play with confidence in front of Conklin. Good to see him chalk up another win.
