The Edmonton Oilers have announced forward Peter Sarno has been recalled from the Toronto Roadrunners of the American Hockey League. The move was made after forward Jarret Stoll was placed on injury reserve with tonsillitis.
Sarno, originally drafted by the Oilers in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft (Sixth round, 141 overall), played with the Espoo Blues in the Finnish Elite League last season, recording 17 goals and 23 assists in 45 games. The 5’11, 185 pound Toronto, ON native also played on the international stage with Team Canada, winning a gold medal at the 2002 Deutschland Cup.
Sarno, who has one goal and four assists in 11 games with the Roadrunners this season, will join the Oilers on Monday in Montreal in preparation for their game against the Canadiens on Tuesday.

I would like to see him play at least one game. In the preseason he looked very good. Small and full of speed, and, what we need, a center. Tony Salmelainen was called up a couple days ago an played in place of Laraque.
