Default Brad Isbister

People continue to say this guy is the next Bertuzzi..a whole lot of talent ready to arrive, to explode on the scene

You can compare if you like. Bertuzzi was not going to arrive in NYI, so he was traded..arrived. Do you think Isbister wil do the same?

He won't break out like Bertuzzi did, but I do beleive that he will have a break out year, compared to his other years with the Isles. Right now he is on the 4th line with Laraque and Horcoff. I don't think that he will stay there much longer. We didn't trade our top defenceman (Niinamaa), for him to play as a fourtth liner. No one seems to have good chemisty with him, except for Laraque, who is our tough guy. Izzy is also a tough guy, so I think that he should move to another line soon.

It's looking more like it was Niinimaa for Torres!

Isbister does not have the wheels or drive to the net that Bertuzzi has. Nobody does! Bertuzzi is the best power forward in the game today.

From what I've seen this season so far and from last spring, Isbister has about as much talent as Josh Green.

I can see why Milbury was eager to get rid of him. Like c'mon..he played a lot with Alexei Yashin last season and couldn't even connect with him! How is he going to all of a sudden light it up in Edmonton with lesser centres?

Every season that Lowe has been GM he's obtained a least one player per season that turned out to be a bust. First it was Green. Last year it was Dopita. This season it's Isbister!

I don't get enough chances to see oiler games to say whether Isbister will break out with them or not. However I'm prety sure that he will not be the next Bertuzzi. He may break out with the oil but I doubt he'll ever be a Bertuzzi.

If you're looking for the next Bert though my money is on Taylor Pyatt of the Sabres.

There is only one Bertuzzi. And we've got him. Hopefully Vancouver does the right thing and locks him up for another 3 years or so.

Glad to see no one has faith in the guy!

I think he is a solid, gritty two way player. Not at all a power forward like bertuzzi.

Probably more like..a Martin Lapointe type of guy..or a Trevor Linden(the aged version)

i believe Isbister is good. But he's not really good. I'd like to have him on my team.

[b][i]I can't wait till all the naysayers are proven wrong...Isbister is a great player that has to pick it up a bit but,the way the Oil have been playing lately...can you honestly say anything great about any player on the Oiler squad.Has there really been any consistent player...NO.We have been trying to get Brad for at least 4 years...we got him and i don't think the coaching staff is going to give up on him just yet...unlike some people here on this forum.

Instead of bitching about Brad...why not look to others on the squad that have done nothing and probably will do nothing by the end of the year...Horcoff comes to mind...puck on
