Default Buffalo game

If it's any consolation....

Edmonton is undefeated in their last seven games versus the Sabres as the Oilers are 5-0-2-0 since suffering a 1-0 loss on March 27, 1998 at Edmonton.

Since joining the NHL in 1979-80, the Oilers have an all-time record of 33-15-10-0 (.655) in 58 games versus the Sabres and have outscored Buffalo 228-182. Edmonton is 20-5-3-0 (116-73) in 28 games at Skyreach Centre and 13-10-7-0 (112-109) in 30 games on the road.

What are the chances of the Oil coming out and scoring a win tonight?

Slim to none.

Actually, Buffalo doesn't look too sharp. Edmonton can take it if they use their blazing speed and stay physical.

Buffalo has be known to work hard and steal games, on the other hand.

Briere injured in off-ice workout

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Sabres center Daniel Briere injured his hamstring and groin during an off-ice workout Wednesday and is expected to miss games.

"Right now we feel it's fairly serious and it will keep him out of the lineup," coach Lindy Ruff said.

The Sabres called up forward Domenic Pittis from AHL club Rochester and sent goaltender Ryan Miller to the minors.

Briere is the team's No. 2 center, behind Chris Drury, and joins a grown list of injured forwards. Tim Connolly (concussion), Jochen Hecht (broken arm) and Eric Boulton (thumb) already were on the injured list.

If they can get their offence going and net a couple in the first frame they will do alright, but agian if they don't and wait till 30 seconds left in the third and then try to pot one they aren't gonna come out on top. I think they can come out with a win.

The Oilers should be able to win. Should. Offence needs to drip out, and more rubber should be fired at the net. I'm guessing Edmonton will pull out a win, but barely; 3-2 OT, Horcoff with the winner.

I can't help but post this. Still no powerplay goals, but Edmonton has a 3-1 lead. Hemsky and Torres = WOW. These two guys play great together with Smyth in the middle. Both have 2 points (so far after 2nd), and both have 4 points overall (for now..). Go Oilers!

Final Score: 4-1 Edmonton. Well deserved win for the Oilers, they all worked very hard. Conklin was solid in net, and made some game-saving stops. The Oilers offence stepped up like they wanted to, and it paid off. Great game.

I missed the game due to the Yankees-Red Sox drama.

Was Torres playing on a line with Smyth & Hemsky? Certainly looked that way on the hi-lites.

It's no coincidence that Laraque fought and the Oilers won.

Conklin was 1st star!

The line juggling really worked for the Oilers, and they finally got some goals. This is the team I've been waiting to see. The whole team looked awsome, Conklin was awsome in net only 1 goal amazing for his first start this season. Lets see if they can make it last next game...
