Default Game 5

Well it's Battle of Alberta, in the 2nd last preseason game for the Oilers. The Oil are hosting them today at 7:00MT. All the teams are getting set for the regular season, making the final adjustments to the required 23-man lineup. I am going to this game, is anyone else? I think it should be exciting, of course, it's the great rivalry. I'm predicting 4-2 win over the Flames.

I won't be going.... :

What's the status of Smyth's finger and Laraque's groin? Have you heard if they will be in the lineup?

PRE-SEASON FINAL: EDMONTON 7 - CALGARY 4

Well, a high scoring affair but I guess the point is we came out victorious. Out of the 11 goals, only 1 was scored even strength and one was short handed courtesy mr.reasoner, Calgary outshot Edmonton 35-25, I had soccer today so didn't listen to the game, how was it whoever was there or heard it?

From the stats sheet, it looks like the Oilers PP was finally clicking. Peter Sarno had a strong game with a couple of points and also did well on the faceoff dot. Hemsky had another good game too.

Conklin got the win and Smyth didn't play.

PS. Comrie should get a job at the Brick!

Oh man what a great game! High scoring and lots of hits and emotion. I am really surprised at Peter Sarno's play. He had a very strong game with a goal and 3 assists. Chimera and Torres both got 2 goals. All of the Oiler rookies seemed to be on the ice, and they all did awesome. Conklin looked strong in the first and second period, but then slowed down at the third. I was almost afraid that the Oilers would lose their 6-0 lead. I see a great 25th anniversary year for the Oil.

What a wacked out game, every goal except one (by the flames) was shorthanded. I don't excatlly know what that means though... Oilers still need to work on their PP, and since every goal was scored SH does that mean they might need to adress the PK also? One thing that the Oilers do need to work on is keeping the lead, they had a 3-0 lead heading into the 2nd and let the Flames come back with 2 goals...
Anyways great game tonight, Chemira, Stoll, Torres, Rita, York and Hemsky all played awsome most of the team seems to have found some serious chemistry amongest themselves.

Your right, but it's only one game... I don't think they'll score that many PP goals every night.

Saw the highlights last night......Raffi Torres is living up to his name as a hitter.

Damn...I just got off the phone. I was offered 4 ticket to tomorrow's game (sec 101 row 10 - right behind the penalty box) but had to give them up because I'm playing that night. Given a choice of watching or playing....I'll play (unless of course they were playoff tickets)!!!
