Default Game 4

Game 4 of the pre-season wil start for the Oilers tomorrow (Saturday), at 6:00MT.
Quote:
(EDMONTON - Sat. Sept. 27, 2003) OILERS RETURN TO ACTION VERSUS MINNESOTA
The Edmonton Oilers (1-1-1-0) return to pre-season play Saturday as they host the Minnesota Wild (2-3-0-0) at Skyreach Centre. Saturday’s game is the lone game of the 2003 pre-season between the Oilers and Wild and it is the second of four home games for the Oilers during the pre-season.
Any thoughts before the game? Predictions, little known facts?

According to the paper Mike York might suit up for his first pre-season game of the year to test his wrist. Ryan Smyth will be taking the night off because of his cracked finger. I'm not sure if Eric Brewer is going to play - he wretched his back while golfing at the Jasper Park Lodge this week.

One more little known fact - I'll be there 10 rows behind the penalty box. Finally, the season is soon going to be underway!

I feel bad for the Oilers. One of their top players seems to somehow get injured every season. Either down the stretch, or in preseason.

Talking about Smyth?Yeah his style of play is sacrificing his body for his team which tends to get him injured alot.

I was at the game and it wasn't the most enjoyable. Not a very good pace and the oilers were very sloppy. Conklin bailed them out a lot of the time. We were very sloppy with the passing and looking up before dishing off the puck. We got a weak goal to tie it up but the 2nd and a nice one by the new kid Tony Salmelainen to send the game into o.t. only to be lost. Well now the coaching staff will have to make some tough decisions in the next 12 days before the regular season starts.

Raffi Torres got the other Oilers goal. Mikko Luoma got burned on a Minny goal and probably played himself off the Oilers blueline for this season. Conklin faced 13 shots in the 1st period and kept the game close. Brewer and Staios did not play. Neither did Smyth, Hemsky, Isbister.

Comrie's photo has been removed from the Oilers website main page.

Moreau just signed on for an additional 3 years and is now under contract till 2007.

Smyth - York - Hemsky
Isbister - Horcoff - Dvorak
Moreau - Reasoner - Pisani
Torres - Stoll - Laraque

Semenov - Brewer
Cross - Staios
Bergeron - Smith

Salo
Conklin
