Quote:
The Edmonton Oilers have announced the signings of forwards Peter Sarno and Jamie Wright to two-year contracts.
Sarno, originally drafted by the Oilers in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft (Sixth round, 141 overall), played with the Espoo Blues in the Finnish Elite League last season, recording 17 goals and 23 assists in 45 games. The 5'11, 185 pound Toronto, ON native also played on the international stage with Team Canada, winning a gold medal at the 2002 Deutschland Cup.
Wright, a 27-year-old Kitchener, ON product, is in his seventh professional season and joins his fourth NHL team. The 6'2", 200 pound left-winger played 19 games with the Calgary Flames last season before being traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. After four games with the Flyers he was sent down to the Flyers top farm team, the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he scored 10 goals and 14 assists in 33 games with the Phantoms.
