Default Oilers Sign Pisani

The Edmonton Oilers forward, Fernando Pisani, has agreed to a 3-year contract. Pisani was Edmonton's 9th choice (8th round), 195th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, and since his half year in the NHL, has already scored one hat trick. Pisani will receive $600,000 in the first year and $655,000 and $780,000 respectively in the second and third years. I think Pisani will be a great checker for the Oilers next year, as he showed great skill when he played along with Marty Reasoner and Ethan Moreau.

It's great news to see Lowe sign his guys before camp. Pisani really showed his stuff last year - I hope to see him really turn it on this season.

Who's left to sign?

Mike Comrie, Georges Laraque and Ethan Moreau are the reamining group 2 players left to sign. The Oilers will probably sign all of them.

Along with Pisani the Oilers also signed defenceman, Dan Smith to a one-year deal:

Quote:
Smith, originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in 1995 is entering his eighth professional season. The 6'2", 200-pound Fernie, BC native notched 15 points (1-14-15) and 53 penalty minutes in a career-high 69 games in 2002-03 with the Springfield Falcons, Colorado's American Hockey League affiliate. Smith also added two assists in six playoff games with the Falcons.
