Default Marc-Andre Bergeron VERY underrated?

I was recently browsing the hockeydb.com website and I searched up statistics for MA Bergeron. From the stats I've read on there, Bergeron is hugely underrated by scouts and all those prospect sites. In the 2000-2001 season with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, he put up 101 points in 69 games. Thats phenomenal, considering the QMJHL has been dishing out some of the best goaltender prospects in the last couple years. He also had 74 points in 70 games with Shawinigan the year before that, and even this year he put up 39 points in 66 games with the Bulldogs. If he can play this well at the NHL level, we're going to have a major offensive defenseman threat.

Of course, stats don't tell everything, but from what I have seen of him so far, he is very capable of continuing his offensive play.

Yes, stats don't always mean anything, but he will be a great player in the future. In the couple games he played last year, he showed to have some offensive threat on the powerplay and on even strength. I also remember him flipping over Claude Lemeiux in the playoffs, wow that was a pretty good hit for that little guy. He should crack the top 7 defenceman next year.

Well, he's certainly produced at every level that he's played at so far. Judging by his age I'm thinking that he could put up 20-25 points this year. My guess. That is, of course, if he plays every night.

Yeah, even if he turned out to be a 25-30 point d-man that would be amazing. And it was Bredan Morrow that he hip checked in game 6 this year.

Well, the oilers are known for bringing up young, talented players and making them stars. I agree that stats don't always tell everything, but bergeron will have a great impact on teh oiler team this year.
