What place will the oil place/finish in and if they do make the post season how far can they go? Will they finally make it by the first round?

Why not the usual? They'll finish 7th or 8th and bow out to Dallas in the first round :x . I sure hope not. I think they'll be about 5th place and might end up playing my Canucks. That would be one heck of a series but i still think Vancouver would take them in 7 games.

Well, it'll be hard to say right now. I think they'll just end up finishing 7th or 8th, as Nelson19777 said. I'm hoping they do face Dallas again, because I don't know if they are going to be as good as last year. Teppo Numminem and Don Sweeney replacing Derian Hatcher and Daryl Sydor isn't exactly the same amount of skill. And with Neuwindyk still avaliable, they probably lose him as well.

I love the dallas / oils games! Every game of the series feels to me like a finals game 7. The intensity is so high. I love to see them play against each other.

As to where they will be, If I knew I would be rich with lots of money in betting wins.

I'm not one for making predictions this early in the season...oh wait...the season hasn't even started....hmmm....training camp is how far away!?!?!

Well, it's summer and there's not much on the hockey front as far as news goes......so, let's have some fun!!!

Since the 'Canes screwed up my playoff pool two years ago...and the Wild and Ducks ROYALLY screwed up last year's playoff pool - here goes.....

The Oil will kick some ass during the final 20 game regular season home stretch. All the pieces will fall in place as the result of some final tweaking just before the trade deadline by Kevin Lowe.

The Oil will finish 1st in their division just edging out the 'nucks by a couple of points. This is how the West will look at the end of the reg. season:

1. Edmonton
2. St. Louis
3. Dallas
4. Vancouver
5. Minnesota
6. Colorado
7. Detroit
8. Columbus

The first round the Oil will take the BJ's in 4 games. In the second round the Oil will battle the 'nucks in a 7 game barn-burner series where Tommy Salo will finally prove his worth (over Cloutier) and everyone will take notice. In the final round of the West, the Oil will face the Stars in a series that will galvanize the entire League. It will be a series that will be talked about for years and Edmonton will FINALLY (once again) beat the Stars in the playoffs (in 6 games).

The 2003/04 Stanley Cup Championship series will be fought between the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl winning Edmonton Oilers against the Prince of Wales Trophy winning New York Rangers. Finally, the pieces have also come together for Glen Sather. The Rangers with their heafty salary will not be a test for the Oilers. The Oil steamroll through the Rangers with momentum having battled hard to come out of the West. The Oilers will beat the Rangers easily only dropping 1 of 5 games to win their 6th Cup in 25 seasons.

Well, you asked.............

*sniff* *sniff* If that happened i would literally start to tear. Why wouldn't that be an incredible story. I like what you pondering over. The oilers have great potential and yes are highly capable of taking home the CUP!

I think the Oilers have a great team, but most of them are young guys. So I think if they want to make it past round 1 or even round 2 they need some top notch  LEADERSHIP!! :!: :!: :!:
