Default a sweet nice article I thought you Wingnuts might like xD

I mean wing fans lol

Its about the Wings and the 'family' ties that bind them and make them such a great team.

One thing, what I see is the biggest thing - to winning stanley cups is the importance of being a family, in a family everyone finds his or her own niche and place in it. The red wings have been building on this concept since about the 1994-1995 season. And they have done it quite well.

The red wings also take players who have been tossed to the garbage heap by other teams, and train them to find his special talents. Thats what they have done for our Danny Cleary and Sweden's Mikael Samuelsson. They also let them mature in their own time, in their own way, and Cleary even said Nobody is pressured to produce and that its ok if they dont preform all nights.

I have liked the Wings since 1995, my father told me all kinds of stories about them. I learned about why they use the octopus from my father. I learned about the Production Line from my father.

The red wings are my second favorite team, and they are my fathers second favorite team.

Anyway, I hope you of the Wings organization like this sweet article.

good post and good article! Maybe you ARE a wings fan afterall...

Ive always been struck by the team loyalty of these guys. Guys like Yzerman and Lidstrom who spend their entire careers in detroit (its not the most glamorous city in the country), because they have that sense of loyalty and family. They are one of the few teams that has more than one player stay on for so long. It always seems like there is a better paycheck in another city, or that your team simply doesnt want you anymore. This is seldom the case with the wings.

good read! Thanks...
i enjoyed this line "Homer's English has gotten worse. His first year, he actually spoke pretty good, and now you can hardly understand him."

Of course I'm a wings fan. My first team is the habs, but when they arent playing its go wings go.......

You can thank my father for that. He always love the wings (when the habs werent playing) Before like 1995-96 or so i was like wings? meh but when they began building their family and I learned all about Ted Lindsay and all that a WING has done for humankind, I realize that yes they are special too. and my father was right all along about them.

yeah it was my father who got me into the wings also, he grew up in detroit and was fortunate neough to be around during the gordie howe era. I was a little young at the time but prior to 94 it was probably hard to be a wings fan lol

yea understandably it was hard to be a wings fan before 1995 since interestingly there was a hex put on the team ever since Ted Lindsay was traded to Chicago and the Production line broke up they never started climbing out of the rut til around 1994-1995. So, um, yea. Kinda hard to be a wings fan prior to 1995 but in a way it was kind of interesting to in a way. They never got close to being a true cup contender until 1995 when they made it to the finals. Funny how it seems a force of some kind wanted to punish the generation Lindsay had worked for for the way they treated the players.

By the way, who is your favorite Red Wing of the 2007 - 2008 wings? Mine is Datsyuk
