Well, Dallas finally managed to beat the Sharks and eliminate them, so we're stuck with a series against a team that is coming off the high of eliminating 2 very good teams. I think that the Wings may start with a little rust, and probably lose the first game. I also see Turco stealing a couple for the Stars with the help of Richards.
In the end, it could go either way, but I'll go with Wings in 7.
Detroit should be able to shoot their way past Dallas.
Contrary to popular belief, Anaheim was not a great team this year, and both the Ducks and the Sharks had problems scoring all season. I think Dallas's defense will be tested this round.
Dallas looks mentally fragile. A solid first period could be all she wrote...
Rumors indicate Franzen has a blood clot and is out the remainder, which is a shame if true. I have no way of substaniating this, and Ferris Bueller needed a kidney transplant...

I've heard the same rumors, but its nowhere near a sure thing. Personally, I doubt its a clot in the brain, but it could be one somewhere else in the body, causing pressure on the brain, and thus the headaches. I really hope its not true.
And the Red Wings just dominated the Stars in that 3rd period... Zetterberg and Datsyuk are just so impressive.
It would be a shame for Franzen to miss the rest of playoffs and his chance to turn records on their ears, but like with Fischer, better to be safe than sorry.
Detroit needs to play knock-out on Wednesday, and I think they've shown they know what that means. I don't think we'll see a melt-down like what happened in Colorado, but a 2-0 type game seems very likely.
I really think this is the best roster we've had in a long time. It just seems like it's the Wings dystiney to win the cup this year, we're just playing to well for other teams to beat us.
On the whole Franzen thing i'm really praying he can play in the finals, his story really has been great with the way he's broken out this year. But like someone said it's better to be safe than sorry.
This team is certainly playing the best hockey I've seen in a long time. That 2002 squad was pretty amazing as well, and had to go against some pretty amazing squads. I'm not sure which roster is better or even which plays better. But I'm loving what I'm seeing right now.
Here's an update on Franzen:
"Centre Johan Franzen, who tops Detroit with 12 goals in these playoffs, is still experiencing headaches and won't play Wednesday. Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said test results on Monday showed "nothing significant" and doctors have ruled out more serious medical concerns, such as a blood clot or ruptured blood vessel."
Good news if its not a clot. GIVE THE MAN AN ASPRIN!
No major problems with Franzen, but he's still out for game 5. Something tells me the Stars are going to make a stink of this series, and the Wings are going to have a really hard time winning.
I have no doubt that Detroit is the better team. I'd prefer as much rest as possible, but I'm not sure a little adversity is bad. I did want Osgood to get the record for consecutive victories, but I'm over it.
