Uh, an enforcer has to have great skill? Somehow I don't think that fits the bill. Setting the bar at Stevens is way too high. And Probert doesn't make that standard.

And I think Jiri Fischer had skill, played good D, and could hit. Given a couple more years his fighting would have developed as well.

I dont' know I think of Jiri has a good defensemen from what little I remember of him), but enforcer? Nah. I wouldn't kick him off the team for eating rckers on the bench by any means though.

And I might have set the br hgih, but hey; go big or go home.

Fischer's mean streak was steadily developing. He cross Checked that one Hurricane (was it Kevyn Adams?) in the mouth in the 2002 Cup Final, and then, in 2004, after missing a year because of Hartnell's cheap tactics, he sought him out the first chance he got and pounded the snot out of him.

The Wings would not have a hole on Defense if Fischer hadn't gone down. Lidstrom, Rafalski, Chelios, Fischer, Lilja, Kronwall. That's a good D. In fact, we might not even have Rafalski, but Drury instead....
