Default Atlanta in Detroit

Ok, our team has not been doing too well these past games, but Atlanta is coming to Detroit on the 15th which should add another "W" to Detroit's record. Any predictions? How should the wings play in order to win this time?

I think that the Wings need to consider rather seriously the possibility that Dallas Drake is detrimental to the success of the team. I would rather see Aaron Downey in the lineup on a regular basis. This is especially true against Eastern Conference Teams as they tend to carry more "hitters."

I think installing Aaron Downey on the 4th Line for the game against Atlanta will go a long way to establishing the energy level needed to win the game.

The Wings also have to fix the Power Play. Simply put, get the puck to Lidstrom and have him shoot it.

Dallas Drake has been on a bit of a roll lately. I also believe that Downey should be in the lineup almost every night or every night. I enjoy it when he is in the lineup, he is a good hitter, and definitely is a decent bodyguard for our guys out there.

News out of the morning skate has it that Drake is still nursing his knee after colliding with Heatley and that Downey will get the start in his place.

I like Downey's energy better, so I really have no problem with this. I don't find that Drake, outside of a couple goals in the last week or so, adds much to this team.

I fully expect a Red Wings loss tonight. The team as a whole has not been playing very well defensively, and seeing as Kovie loves to exploit poor team defense, we're screwed. And the PP has been terrible. Unless that all changes tonight, we won't win.

So... Looks like I was right, in a way. It was Hossa that burned us offensively, we didn't get many PPs, and Lehtonen ended up ensuring we didn't make a comeback. I think this could extend into 5 games.

Hopefully not, but... Seeing how we're playing, I won't be surprised. Kozlov & Kovalchuk were the players that made Hossa's hat-trick, I think. Lehtonen was great, while Osgood was not. And I never saw Pavel and Zetterberg (I mean I saw them, but they didn't do anything), good defense by the Thrashers.

I hope we'll end this lose-streak and we'll come back on track.

My call for the Calder (Enstrom) had another 2 points last night...
