Default Avs vs Wings tonight

Who wins? I think they Avs come out firing and beat the dreaded wings. 3-2

No No No.. The wings got this game. I'm watching it now and by the looks of things, the wings will come out on top.

Detroit actually hasn't looked that good so far in this game. They need to work harder to get better chances in close, and be careful of the Avs speed to the outside. At the same time, Detroit needs to exploit the inexperience of the Colorado defense and poor transition play and step up a little with a more aggressive forecheck.

The refs really have put their whistles away for this game, I've seen several non-calls on both sides. It bothers me, because the same was the case in the last number of games for the Wings, and I really hope that it isn't something that keeps on happening. Detroit is a team that lives off of being able to move without obstruction through the neutral zone.

I think it was a good game..

1st period was just fast pace with no scoring, 2nd was very fast and aggressive.. Detroit did screw up a lot of good opportunities to score though. Datsyuk ended up scoring the first and only goal of the game in a power play. 3rd period, Detroit came in with the lead and Dom was on fire in my opinion.

Overall though, I liked the fast pace and aggression.. Doms 3rd shutout of the season and 79th of his career.

So Detroit wins a low scoring game, with both goalies making some great saves. The game as a whole was very defensive with very few chances allowed by both teams, and few shots. I'm just happy Detroit won. They can't play like they did today against Ottawa on the 12th though.

The fast pace really was only there in spurts. And Datsyuk's goal was just after the PP ended.

Oh.. well, it must have been like 1 or 2 seconds after the PP, I was paying too much attention on the players and not the time.

Ya it was right after, easy mistake to make.

I would still consider Datsyuk's goal a PP goal.

Tell you though, Theodore looked really, really good. Maybe hes in a hot stretch but that game couldve been higher scoring if both goalies werent as sharp as they were.

Overall, I really liked the game. I like when the Wings blow people out, dont get me wrong, but I truly enjoy watching them grind it out. Youre not going to blow teams out in the playoffs, so doing so in the regular season does not help the preparation.
