i know im not a red wings fan but i would like to bring this topic up
here, we will all talk about the amazing thing that happened one day, one game, on the red wings bench. when fischer has a siezure. that was a terrible crisis. i felt bad. i mean come on. that is crazy

I'm not sure that this is really a topic that needs to be rehashed, given that its pretty much a guarantee that Fischer won't be back, and pretty much everything that needed to be said on the incident has been said. It was a terrible ordeal, and I'm just happy that he has been able to participate with the organization in a different fashion. The Wings were really classy by not forcing him into retirement and paying him his salary last year despite him not even play.

He was on HNIC a month or so ago promoting defibrillator's be a part of all all sporting venues. A tragic and scary even for sure, but some good has come out of it.

Bleh, I will never forget that. What a bizarre broadcast. Kudos to Nashville and their players/staff for being so damn classy during the whole incident.

First and foremost, Im glad Jiri is alive and well.

Second, I am saddened to not have him as a Wing. The Wings are dominant right now and would only be moreso with him on the roster. He was just starting to find his groove too, as a physical guy who will drop the gloves from time to time. He was really starting to round into form and become a top 3 dman on any team.
