So our next game is against you guys , and im not confident at all since we have some big problems here , a trade is coming thats for sure , Carey Price is sick ( prob.bull**** ) and Halak is coming in MTL ( to show it to the GMs? ).
Yup. Watch Hasek kill us in this game. Thats whats going to happen.
(i hope I am wrong, but....)
It looks like Hasek was able to do what was needed to get the Win. Datsyuk again was great, same with Zetterberg. Can't say I'm fond of Babcock playing around with the lines right now. I mean, we're the top scoring team in the West, why mess with lines that seem to work?

Hasek saved their ass early in that game. He made some crucial, early saves from a desperate team at home.
Datsyuk was, well, friggin Datsyuk. That guy could steal your shoes befre you even tied em.
As for Babcock's shuffling, I like it. He's thinking longterm, which is a double edged sword. But the Datsyuk/Zetterberg combo needs to be broken up at some point.
Its fine if that Z/D/H line is used on the PP and sparingly during the game as a changeup (or should I say super-fastball) to screw with the oppositions coach, but longterm, we need more balanced scoring.
Last night, the Filpula/Datsyuk/Hudler line looked REAL good. Thats encouraging, very encouraging.
With that info, Babcock can mix and match others with Zetterberg to find his groove on his own line. Samuelsson? Franzen? Cleary? Who knows, but theyll figure it out.
As a side note, hiring Babcock was the absolute best move this franchise has made since hiring Bowman. Hes a wonderful coach. Just look at the cast-offs and young players blossoming before your eyes. He finds their strengths, plays to them, then improves them, giving them extreme confidence along the way. I am seriously impressed with everything Babcock has done so far.

What I don't understand with Babcock's shuffling is that he does it when we finally start to get secondary scoring. If he was juggling the line back when only the first line was scoring, then I could understand, but both Cleary and Hudler had huge months in November, and right now doesn't seem to be the right time to be messing with that. If it comes to it that the second line start to fail again, then all power to the shuffling. But for now, I think he's trying to fix something that isn't broke.
And impressed with Babcock? He has introduced a system that works very well for the team. But I'm not impressed with everything that he has done so far. I don't like it that Hudler so easily lands in Babcocks dog house, even if he has 10 good games and then 2 bad ones, he seems to be demoted to 4th line duty. You need to put the kid in a position to score, and the 4th line isn't where he is going to do it.
Also, he seems to have way too much confidence in Lilja and Kronwall for my liking. The 2 should not be on the same pairing. But what can we do? I mean, you put Lilja with Lebda and you have probably the weakest pairing possible on the team. I like Lebda, but sometimes I think he would do better as a forward. His speed is elite, but his hands are terrible. If he had better hands, he'd be a forward for sure. He has very poor defensive awareness, so thats why he needs to be with Chelios... the old fart can keep him in line.
And I know you like Lilja, but I just don't understand why. He makes more defensive gaffs in a game then the rest of the team does all game combined. The only reason I like keeping him around is that at least he throws his weight around a little.
And Kronwall? Talk about a bust. 3 million a year for that? Yeesh.
Good game guys . the Wings are sure very good , but the Habs are on a very big cold strike and it is embarassing.A trade is coming for sure as 2 hamilton players came back in MTL yesterday and Carbo was not happy at all in the media.
Still not sure on Babcock but it could be a persnal thing he played for a team called the Whitley Bay Warriors here in the UK and thats like my teams feirce rivals petty i know but its a big rivalry lol. Win the cup mike and all is forgiven
