Red Wings get a good win over Phoenix 5-2, but the refs made it harder than it should have been. Zetterberg with 2 more points and another goal to extend his streak to 6 games I think, and extend his lead for points in the NHL. Hasek looked better than he has in the pased, and Kronwall had another good game. Also, Hudler finally got a goal to (hopefully) break his slump, and Filppula just can't catch a break... 3 break aways on the game but Khabibulin had him at every turn.
Detroit has called up Grigorenko, and will probably give him limited minutes until Franzen comes back. From there, its up to them to decide if Grigs has played well enough to stick with the main roster, or if its time to let him head back for Russia, probably for good.
I personally don't expect that Grigorenko is going to be able to earn the roster spot, and will head over to Russia so that he can earn the money he feels he deserves.

Good game Wings.
You mean Tellqvist. That was a good win over the Coyotes. Definitely some stupid calls against Detroit. Like the first call against Holmstrom for not even doing anything wrong, and disallowing the goal for Hank of course.

Ah, that I did. I think I must have had Khabibulin in my head from watching the Leafs/ Hawks game.
Hello Wings fans. Looks like tonights our night to dance eh...
Of late the Canucks seem to have this overwhelming idea that 36 minutes of play should do the trick in the "wins" column.
As we all know, that doesn't cut it. Another thing we all know is the Wings are supposed to suck cause they're getting old and their time is done etc etc....however, no ones yet to tell this to the Wings. Their fantastic play is a complement to their entire organization, top to bottom.
The Canucks however, seem to like playing the Wings. I think if the boys in white/green bring their A game and play 60 mins instead of the usual the Wings are in for a tougher night than say the Coyotes presented recently. However, if they Canucks insist on "starting slow" and then turning it on it will be little to late cause the vultures will have picked their bones clean by this time.
Canucks play 60 = 5-3 win.
Canucks play 29 = 6-2 loss.
Yours
RB

Great win by the Wings - however aside from Luo's efforts I don't think they had to work all too hard for the 2 pts.
Terrible work by the Canucks. I don't know what 14 shots are going to do against a team like the Wings or any other team for that matter. Just a brutal effort.
Be well Wings fans...until next time
Rusty's out

It was a good win for the Wings. The Canucks D wasn't all that great, although some of those guys are ridiculously fast. Hank's points streak continues. We meet again on Sunday.
That was an interesting game. Hasek to step his game up soon. 15 shots and he allows two goals (the Cooke goal was suspect). While Luongo faces 39 and only allows 3.
Wings completely outplayed the Nux for 56 of the available 60 mins. After the Nux got their first goal, they went on a little tear there where they were actually threatening. Wings weathered it and went right back to killing them softly.
Maltby is showing some heart lately. I seriously thought he was done as a player but he's definately out to prove something. Looks good.
Matt Ellis. Good story, gritty player. But his skating is atrocious to watch, he looks like me out there.
Maltby is out to back his word. I read somewhere that he expects a breakout year for some reason. That move last night was sweet, too bad he didn't score. Definitely wasn't a Kirk Maltby move. None the less, a good win for the Wings last night. Do it again against the Canucks on Sunday.
