The confusing thing about the Kings is that they are not a roster devoid of speed and talent. They've actually got some really good players.
I blame their record on their coaching staff (I hate Crawford anyway, so its not hard). Obviously, the players are either doing exactly what the coaches want and losing, or they're not doing what the coaches want them to do and losing.
Either way, the coach is at fault. For a bad system or not getting buy-in.
I agree. But I do think that with time, this team will be a good one, depending on their ability to retain their young talent, and on finding a good goaltender.
How about that game last night against Phoenix? I thought for sure it was going to OT, but Datsyuk stopped on a dime to score the goal that put them on top! Then that empty netter by Draper put the game away.. Great game!
As a funny side note, wingsnut will be happy to note that Lilja had a deplorable game last night. Horrendous.
Yes, but lately I've been rather impressed with his play. He's starting to get on my good side, but it won't take much for him to fall back to the **** list. But I didn't think that the Wings as a whole played a very good game last night, outside of Datsyuk and Lidstrom. That guy just amazes me, Datsyuk does. He always seems to step up big when Zetterberg goes down.
I think Hasek is starting to get back into form. That last loss to the Blues was nowhere near Haseks fault, and he actually played a great game. This is terrific news for the Wings, having 2 goalies playing well is always better than just one. So long as they can rely on one or the other come playoff time, the Wings look like they can make a pretty deep run this year.
Also, Zetterberg is suppose to be back tomorrow, which is great because I will be at the game. It should be a good game, with both teams having played great hockey lately. I'll have a full report for everyone after the game.
Jesus H. Christ. Victories in dominating fashion over Dallas in a home-and-home series with 3-0 and 3-1 margins. Fly out of Dallas into Chicago for a back-to-back and win 3-1.
We're watching history, we just dont know it yet. Cleary is resurrected.

We definitely are watching history.. The Wings will not be stopped

This season, I'm not sure that Cleary isn't the unsung hero. He isn't getting the stats like our #3 forward, (though he's close), but he certainly is. This guys has completely redefined himself and his game and become the very thing Detroit didn't have.
A gritty, speedy, defensive-minded, offensively aware, character player under the age of 30.
And he's able to play in any role he's asked to and do it well. Need a guy in front of the net on the PP? Need a guy to grind it out? Need a guy on the second line to put pressure on the D? Need a PK guy? Need a tough forecheck? Need a hit to turn a game around?
He's so thin in the face he looks like Skeletor to me, but man can this guy play the game.
