Default Lidstrom wins the Norris, and Datsyuk the Byng

I'd just like to say congrats to these 2. Both had great years, and deserved recognition. I personally thought that Sakic would get the Byng, but I'm glad that Datsyuk stole it from him. Next year, I'm looking to see Zetterberg be nominated for the Selke, his defensive game is definitely among the best for forwards in the league.

Yeah, I thought Sakic would get it, too. But as a Wings fan I'm glad Pavel got it. Plus, everyone who knows anything about hockey knows how good of a guy Sakic is. He is a real class act.
It would have been a travesty if Lidstrom had not won the Norris. I'm not saying that just because I hate Chris Pronger, but Nick definitely had the best season of the three.
The Jack Adams trophy was a travesty. That should have been Ruff's or Therien's, not the lame-o coach from Vancouver. He didnt turn the Canucks around, Luongo did.

Where does this put Lidstrom in terms of history? Amazing, just amazing.

I thought Super Joe had the Byng in the bag, too. Im not crying for him, but I think he deserved it more.

The Jack Adams was a travesty for the ages. As ninja91 said, Luongo turned them around, not the coach. And what is considered a "turnaround" when your team is a perenial playoff team?

Pittsburgh has been a basement team for 6+ years, they make the playoffs with a bunch of kids with a guiding veteran presence and a heckuva coach. That was very weird.

the same could be said for Pittsburg though, it was Sid that turned the team around. But yeah picking Vigneault for the Jack Adams was pretty brutal.
