Default The next Captain

If Yzerman does retire who should be the next captain?

Well Hull isn't even signed for next year. I just don't see him wanting it but you never know.

I excluded any of the younger Wings. It would be a lot of pressure replacing a legend and I don't think he's ready for it yet. Down the road maybe once his English improves.

Give to lidstrom, who i think is the first player since Yzerman to play his whole career with over 10 seasons of experience to be on the Wings his whole career.

Shanny would get the job. He plays with a lot of heart, and can be a good leader on this team. Plus, he's played in Detroit for a long time, and he really likes it here, so I would like to see him be the next captain of the Wings.

Lindstrom, the guy has been a Wing his whole career and has always played great "d" as exhibited by his Norris trophy wins. I think he deserves the "C."

Shanny...he's more vocal and not afraid to speak his mind, be it to officials or teammates. Not to say that that is a absolute necessary quality for a Captain...Yzerman has been a quiet leader leading by example for almost two decades. Lidstrom would be the same way, and would be a very acceptable choice, also.

Sahnny Lidstrom should have the A, as well as Hull. But shanny, has put soo much into this team thus far, he deserves it.
