Great game, plus the Wings won both fights. First McCarty drills Barnaby the Pest and opens up a major cut under his eye. Then late in the game Cummins eggs on Shanahan...mostly close in stuff but somehow Shanny landed one that made Cummins bleed, too. Gotta love it!

Darren can still throw 'em when he has to, great fight. I also think Cummings wasn't expecting Shanny to give him a tough go like he did. Hey, it was a great game tonight, Legace was awesome tonight, Red Wing fans need not worry about him as our guy in the playoffs. Nice goal by Holmstrom and nice to see the kids pick up a goal each. Datsuyk and Zetterberg impress me more and more everytime I see them play. You can tell the veteran guys are rubbing off on Datsuyk as he played a solid, two-way game tonight, showed that he can backcheck and do it well. Zetterberg we know is a great two-way player but he is smart with the puck as well. As always, its nice to hand the enemy a loss, doesn't get much sweeter than that.
Always makes me laugh when one of these "tough guys" wants a piece of Shanahan and ends up having his ass handed to him. Shanny's one tough hombre, and the fact that he doesn't have to prove it much any more, is proof enough.

I know, Shanny didn't even want to fight at first. Cummins kept egging him on and finally Shanny figures what the hell, give him what he wants. Got to love guys like that, score 30 goals a season plus can kick the hell out of you when they have to. I don't think Cummins will be so eager to fight Shanny next time.

its funny because the wings were looking at barnaby and a lot of local sports writers were saying that barnaby and mccarty would be great to play in practice together and push each other
