If the Wings are going to keep this mutt for the playoffs, I damn sure hope Lewis learns from his mistakes last year and yanks the goof when (not if) he starts to choke.
Although Hasek is still my #1 choice without question, I have a hell of a lot more confidence in Legace, and I think the team does too.
Best thing Holland could do for Detroits playoff hopes is give poodlejo to the Avs for nothing, hell pay his salary even.
Fact is Cujo has played pretty well this season despite all the rumours and being sent to the minors. I bet right now the Rangers were praying they had picked him off waivers.. Hasek has become injury prone and Cujo is their #1 goalie until he can prove that he can play well without any inuries.
The Wings would not trade him to a conference rival, and I doubt the Avs would add another goalie unless it be a vetran backup for insurance. Someone like Trevor Kidd or Byron Dafoe
No, the facts are that he is now 2 games above .500, and has the worst win% by far, the worst GAA, and the worst SV% on the team.
He's had some good games, no doubt, but way too many terrible ones.
The Wings waived him twice, so I think they'd trade him to anyone that would take him once Hasek is healthy.
I think Holland is smart enough to realize that a few good games doesn't change everything, they knew he was capable of playing a few good games before they got him.
Still hoping that Hasek can fully recover with all this rest, and that the reason overratedjo has been playing so much is so that he becomes more tradeable.
I also doubt very much the Avs would take him either, which is why I said even pay his salary. Lacroix's smarter than that, he could've had him for nothing if he'd wanted him.
Can't believe they want to contend for the cup with a rookie backstop though, have to think he'll go for Kolzig or Khabibulin if they're available.
I don't think Holland will trade any of their goalies now. He will keep all three for the rest of the year and probably trade one in the off season. He won't take the chance that Hasek will be healthy for the playoffs. Before Holland can trade Cujo, Hasek will need to play 10 to 15 games before the trade deadline to show that he can handle the work load without injuring his groin. If he can do this, then I would trade Cujo. If not keep Cujo just in case Hasek can't go.
hasek is expected to be back in febuary giving him enough time to recooperate. cujo will be gone by the trade deadline. teams get so worked up when it gets to the p layoffs they make stupid trades, somone will deal for cujo.
A healthy Hasek, and the addition of a quality centerman, and some depth on D make the Wings the favorites to me, of course barring the changes other teams may make.

I'm one to assume, even though I don't follow the Wings much.. that they already have a great amount of depth. How many players did they have out, yet they surged to the top of the league?
If they were to trade Cujo, where would it be? I'm guessing either New York or Philly.. both need to address their problems in net.
I do still think they need another center. I should know better than to question Yzerman, but his knee is still a risk, Datsyuk has been brilliant this season, but I think he might be outmatched by the experience of guys like Sakic and Forsberg, even Weight, Demitra and Modano. Draper has stepped up, but he's overacheiving, and I would just feel a lot better with an experienced top 2 lines type center to replace the loss of both Fedorov and Larionov especially if Yzerman goes down.
On D, they should be fine once hatcher comes back, but a solid veteran stay at home type would be good to have for insurance.
They're contenders now to be sure, but those changes, and a healthy Hasek and ejected dogjo put them over the top.
How many games should Hasek play before they trade Cujo? I would like to see him play at least 10 games before the deadline, to make sure he doesn't have re-occurance of his groin injury.
I'd say if he can play 3 strong games back to back (in 6 nights) on top of full practices without symptoms, he should be good to go. He's not going to play at all until they're sure this time, so it shouldn't take too long to game test it.
I'm also a lot more confident with Legace taking over for him than with foldunderpressurejo, so as far as I'm concerned they can send him down the road for the first offer.
