Default Zetterburg has a broken leg

I got the following from TSN's website,
Quote:
Zetterberg suffers broken leg

TSN.ca Staff

11/4/2003

The Detroit Red Wings will be without forward Henrik Zetterberg for an indefinite period after suffering a broken bone in his leg in Monday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

According to Red Wings coach Dave Lewis, Zetterberg will be out for the next four to six weeks after being slashed by Canucks defenceman Bryan Allen in the third period of last night's game.

Zetterberg has two goals and seven points in 12 games with the Red Wings this season.
Owww. I didn't think Allen slashed him that hard. Jeez, like Detroit needs another problem. Hughson and Garrett kept saying in the Canuck game that Zetterberg is one of the key players that will lead the Red Wings this year. Can't do that sitting on the couch with your leg on a pillow.

Broken because of a slash? Not that I'm condoning slashing but shouldn't his shin pad have protected his leg, absorbed and spread out the impact of the stick?

It's a good thing for the Wings that we don't play them evewn more. First Hatcher and now Zetterberg. Allen has taken out 2 Wings in 2 games. Both looked harmless enough at the time but wow losing Zetterberg will hurt the Wings and it couldn't have come at a worse time.

ouch....Zetty was one of my favorite red wings...i guess it's ok because i do want Detroit to lose...so the nucks can finally beat them in the standings.
