whats wrong with federov? how much money does he expect to get? he should stick with the red wings just becuse they are a good team! but no he got to caught up in money! a common mistake for great athleates!

it's good for him... like you said it's about the money. the wings will have a big hole to fill..

maybe the rangers will send you lindros, but i don't wan't cujo in return.

Illitch and Sergei talked on monday and its reported that the wings offered sergei 4 year 34 millon dollar contract.... he already screwed up by not taking the 5 year for 50 millon. so just sign the contract your not gunna get a better offer

For some players it's not just about the money. Maybe it isn't for Federov either. Just a suggestion, I don't follow Detroit much, and could care less usually, but they're okay. But I've always liked Federov, so I hope he finds somewhere to play where he WANTS to play.

how can you like hockey and not follow the wings... some years i am not a fan (it depends how far the flyers make it into the playoffs) but it wems that every year the wings are cup contenders and it looks like they will be a top prospect this year with hasek coming back and the siging of hatcher

Fedorov just wants to be Number 1 and he would never have been that in Detroit because there are too many top players here. He was also a huge cry baby, whining about ice time and attention, which did nothing to endear himself to the fans (many of which are glad to see him go). I'm not denying he's a skilled player, but he's not the star everyone makes him out to be. Manny Legace had it right when he said that Fedorov will have a rude awakening when he goes out to Cali and realizes that people are not die-hard hockey fans.

Um, didn't he sign for less money? Anyway, I think he signed for less money because it would look like he was not a cry baby wanting more money. he wanted to be the number one star, and now that Kariya is gone, I guess he will be on Anaheim.

Its reported that Fedorov has already gotten 2 potential endorsement opportunities since siging with the ducks. Anaheim may not have die-hard hockey fans like Detroit but their is a lot of publicty prospects which will not only give fedorov more money but will also give him that big hancho star quality that he craves for.

Well, good for him then...that's all he cares about. He's not a team player, he's out of himself. I'm just glad he's out for Hockeytown.
